Middelburg is known for the Steel and Mining activities in the area. The growth of Middelburg is phenomenal, in that the Coal in the area has a life span of approximately another 200 years. Further to the above Middelburg also have the areas known as Middelburg South and Middelburg Central. These are the areas that are the older well established areas in the town. Properties here differ in the sense that some are older well established properties and others, on the sub-devided stands are new and modern.
